Nicole Ari Parker, an American actress who has been featured in films and TV, and on stage, is most well-known for portraying Teri Joseph, the fiery attorney featured in the show on Showtime called Soul Food. Nikki Kodjoe became her stage name upon her marriage. Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, she was always interested in acting. At an Maryland high school competition at the beginning of her training, she was awarded the title for the most outstanding actress. Her career in acting started after she was employed by the Washington Ballet Company and theatre. The first role she played in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love brought her immense respect. The film was immediately followed by other films like "Boogie Nights Spark", Blue Streak". Soul Food, her TV show was greatly praised due to her performance. Her TV appearances include Second Time Around and Empire. In the past she was a part of numerous stage productions. Parker who has a keen interest in politics and is married to model/actress Boris Kodjoe. They have two kids together.

Contractor, who was born and raised by his parents in Nigeria and Mumbai when he was 7years old, traveled all over across the globe and lived through diverse cultures when he was a kid. At the age of seven to nine, the young lady went to boarding school in London. Her family then moved to Toronto where she lived for most of her childhood. Contractor was a student and a classical dancer in Toronto. At the Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public school for high schools that is specialized in the arts) she studied ballet and theater. Contractor, who had been dancing for nearly 10 years when she started and decided to pursue acting. After graduating high school, she was awarded a full grant to attend Toronto's University of Toronto, where she completed a masters degree in the field of theatre, and a double major in psychology and sociology. Contractor with a degree in sociology, having completed her university degree was invited to audition at an open call for Pericles, at the prestigious Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canada] and won the part. The play received rave reviews and her performance in the 92 shows performed this play, which was named the production of the year by Canadian reviewers in 2002. Contractor was given the chance to take part in the conservatory, where the top eight men and four females are selected for a 20-week crash course in classical theatre, which she was eager to take. Contractor received a guaranteed spot for the upcoming season of shows and eventually landed the part as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
